Who We Are

InterHigh Fellowship is a ministry of Gracepoint. We recognized the need to do more for today’s Christian youth. We are graduates of UC Berkeley and have spent many years of our post-college lives at Berkeley, and other campuses, reaching out to students and training them to be committed followers of Christ. Over the decades, however, we’ve seen generations of well-churched-youth-students-turned-college-freshmen fall prey to social peer pressure. Some even left the faith. Christian high school students going to college need more training and preparation to live out their faith on secular college campuses and beyond. At InterHigh, we want to come alongside the local churches and help youth pastors and leaders equip high school students by providing students with resources and training.
InterHigh is led by Pastor William Kang and Esther, his wife . William, along with his wife, has 18 years of ministry experience to college students at UC Berkeley. In addition to college campus ministry, William and Esther helped plant a church in Tokyo, Japan, where they reached out to college students in the greater Tokyo area. Both William and Esther grew up as pastor’s kids, and know what it’s like to be young and youthful in the church. William graduated with honors from UC Berkeley and from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary, also with honors.
Our Mission
Our mission is to gather Christian youth in the Bay Area and raise them with a Biblically minded Christian worldview. The culture makers and marketers of today are besieging our youth with messages that promote all the wrong values, because they recognize the power and influence of this emerging generation of youth. We want our youth to be able to tell the difference between truth and lies. We see ourselves as helpers of local youth group ministries by providing worldview training in a setting where the youth can be encouraged by seeing hundreds of other like-minded peers and college student mentors from UC Berkeley.
We serve those who are already members of a church, but would like an opportunity to grow relationally and spiritually with other Christians of similar age from various parts of the Bay Area. The hope is that our students will be able to approach college and life beyond armed with the ability to not only defend their faith knowledgeably and Biblically against the opposing worldviews of this culture, but also to make an impact in the lives of people in their respective spheres of influence. Finally, we also hope that as we train and equip our youth, they will, in turn, become high-minded servants and a blessing to their home churches.
